Huawei is expected to release its upcoming foldable phone with a clamshell-style design next month. The new Pocket S flip handset is expected to be a tight competitor for Samsung's Galaxy Z flip model.
Huawei Teases Pocket S Flip Phone's Launch
According to Huawei Central, the Pocket S foldable phone is expected to hit stores at 7 PM China time on Nov. 2. The Chinese phone manufacturer has released a short teaser for the product ahead of its official launch next week.
In the video, the Beijing-based firm showed the various colors available for the Pocket S lineup. You can choose six options: white, green, yellow, blue, black, and pink.
Huawei says it will retain the clamshell design of the upcoming foldable handset, first seen in the P50 Pocket line-up in 2021.
Huawei Wants to Compete With Samsung
According to another report by CNET, Huawei might have ended up creating a new flip phone to answer Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip.
Although it quite resembles the handset from the South Korean tech giant, the difference is that it features two huge circles on its exterior.
Apart from that, the P50 Pocket boasts a triple-camera setup for mobile photography enthusiasts. You can also take advantage of its external display which will allow you to see notifications and the current time.

Rumored Chipset For Pocket S Flip Phone
As the rumors suggest, the newest Pocket S foldable handset will be coming with a 4G chipset. Several reports say it might be equipped with a Snapdragon 778G or Snapdragon 888 4G.
Additionally, some rumors claim that Huawei will remove the small cover screen on the model's front part. It should be noted that this Pocket S model will be a downgraded version of the P50 Pocket series.
For now, we only know that the Pocket S will initially debut in China next week. However, Huawei has not yet shared any plans for its global launch in the next few months.
Huawei P50 Pocket Features
The foldable P50 Pocket will come with a 6.9-inch display that will feature a 120Hz refresh rate. It will also sport a 300 Hz touch sampling rate.
Huawei assures that its main screen will have an FHD+ resolution. On the other hand, its cover screen will have 340x340 pixels.
For enhanced mobile graphics, Huawei is expected to slot an Adreno 660 GPU into it. When it comes to battery, its 4000mAh battery supports 40W fast charging.
Indeed, Huawei wants to improve its foldable products to the public in hopes of dominating the industry soon. However, as we know, it won't be an easy battle since Samsung has already established a huge reputation in the field of foldable handsets.
