Instagram is rumored to be developing a feature allowing users to play music on their profile.
According to the tipster, Meta wants to bring the "Profile Song" feature so users can add their favorite songs on the platform. It appears that the company has taken a book from Myspace regarding a similar feature.
Instagram Working on Profile Song Feature
Over the past months, Meta has added new features to the social media app, including a product tagging feature and current Stories. It seems that the tech giant won't stop piling up new gimmicks to surprise its users before the year ends.
As Hypebae spotted via Alessandro Paluzzi, the tech leaker behind this new Instagram feature, the leaked "Profile Song" can be seen in the bio section.
Based on one of his screenshots, Instagram's Edit Profile settings will have a new "Music" option in the future. This is where you can choose any song you want, and just like on Facebook. You can display it on your profile.
There's another photo that suggests that the "Profile Song" will be accessible underneath the links section. Make sure to set your desired song on your playlist.
IGN reports that the rumored feature is similar to what MySpace rolled out in the past. From their MySpace account, the users can auto-play any music on their profile. The visitors can also jam to the beat of the music while taking a sneak peek on someone's profile.
Instagram has not yet officially announced that this feature will arrive on the platform. However, the tweets are pretty convincing that it might come sooner or later.

Profile Song Feature is Commonplace In Some Apps
The "Profile Song" feature is in fact, a common feature among social media apps. For instance, it's also popular in the dating apps such as Raya where users can easily pair a song with the display pictures on their profile.
Just earlier this year, Hinge launched a somewhat similar feature with "Profile Songs." Although it's not exactly the same, the voice prompt feature almost copies how it works. Instead of music, users can display their voice recordings on their profile.
Meanwhile, a report from Tech Times will teach you how to switch into a Professional Account on Instagram. Since social media apps are now helping businesses and content creators to monetize their content, it's important to know how this feature could help them earn some profit.
