Razer Edge Price Confirmed: Steam Deck Competitor to be Priced at $400

With the Steam Deck dominating a different niche than the Nintendo Switch, another handheld device is getting ready to launch. The Razer Edge has long been teased, but its price has finally been revealed.

Razer Edge was Recently Showcased During the 2022 RazerCon Event Along with Other Products and Partnerships

According to the story by PC Gamer, the Razer Edge was recently showcased during the 2022 RazerCon event. This brought a lot of talk regarding potential partnerships and products, with its gaming console standing out the most.

The 5G handheld gaming device looks very similar to many of the different Switch-styled machines being sold. With the Steam Deck selling many units, the article notes that they have seen portable PC gaming take off.

The New Handheld Device Aims to be Different from Other Handheld Consoles

Aside from the Razer Edge, many other competitors are also trying to enter the portable console market. One of the products planning to make an entrance is the OneXPlayer's handheld console which will be packing an AMD 6800 GPU.

Razer reportedly decided to do something different for the Edge. Instead of targeting the high-end portable PC market, the handheld device has more in common with a gaming phone than a Steam Deck.

Razer Edge to Include NVIDIA GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming

The Edge will be an Android-powered tablet that comes pre-installed with different launchers. The launchers include Epic but will also have streaming services like NVIDIA GeForce Now and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

So far, no mention of Steam has been heard regarding the Razer Edge. Although not technically a gaming PC, the device can still be considered a mobile gaming kit.

Buyers Will be Able to Choose Between the 5G Version and the WiFi Version

The bundle will be launched in two options, the 5G option and WiFi variants. These models will be launched in the United States.

Buyers can choose from the two, but so far, only the price of the WiFi version has been confirmed. The Razer Edge WiFi version will be priced at $399.99 and can be purchased online from Razer's official store.
