Telstra experienced a major outage on the morning of October 18, Tuesday, hitting numerous customers in Australia.
The users of the biggest telco in the Australian nation could not help but complain about the recent outage on various social media platforms.
Telstra Outage
As per the latest report by News.com Australia, one of the largest telecommunication networks in the country, Telstra, has gone through an outage.
The giant tech firm has confirmed the issue at hand early on. The massive telco told complaining users on Twitter that they are "currently experiencing technical problems," specifically on their 4G network.
News.com Australia says in its report that Telstra users started storming Twitter to complain about the technical issue at around 6 in the morning.
However, the Australian news outlet reports that at 9:30, the spokesperson of Telstra says that the giant telco has already resolved the technical issue at hand. So it means that their team has already fixed its affected services.
The Telstra spokesperson went on to apologize to their customers. The giant telco says they are "sorry for the bad start to the morning, and we thank everyone for their patience."
Australians Struggle to Make Phone Calls
While Telstra initially tweeted that it is experiencing some issues with its 4G networks, the complaints of its users suggest otherwise.
According to a recent report by Gizmodo Australia, the customers of the giant telco have been complaining on Twitter that they are unable to make calls.
One frustrated customer tweeted that all their family members could not make calls. But in response to that, the official Twitter account of Telstra points out to a technical problem with the 4G network.
While users report the Telstra outage on Twitter, Down Detector also collect user-generated complaints. Down Detector disclosed that the outage complaints began at around 6:00 am Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT), Gizmodo notes in its story.
And it turns out that customers are experiencing issues that include voice calls, mobile data, and broadband, the data from Down Detector reveals.
The spokesperson of the giant telco acknowledged that they are grappling with technical issues, noting that it affects the voice call services. But Telstra notes that its "data and text are working."
