Apple has a new product on its retail store shelves first spotted by customers who shared it online, and it is the Level Lock+ smart door lock for the home. It is a new take from Apple's original Level Lock, a device that integrates the doors as a smart home device that allows people to access it via their technology from Cupertino giant.
The Level Lock+ has Home Key support on it, helping users unlock it with only their iPhones or Apple Watches compatible with the device.
Apple Stores: Level Lock+ Spotted in Retail Stores
Users shared their Apple Retail Store spotting via Twitter, confirming the availability of the Level Lock+ from the Cupertino giant, which is ready for the public to purchase. It is the upgraded version of the earlier released Level Lock, which is also an exclusive among Apple Stores in selected branches it has nationwide.
The new Level Lock+ delivers a door lock that is accessible by Apple's HomeKit features, allowing the public to unlock their homes with only their smartphones to use.
It is available for users to purchase from the company "level", which has it available in Apple Retail Stores, in collaboration with the company's latest feature.
Level Lock+ Debuts Home Key Support
The Home Key Support is now available in this upgraded version of the Level Lock+, and it will allow users to use their iPhones and Apple Watches to unlock the doors without needing any other apps. Additionally, by scanning their devices near it, the Home Key would authenticate its security with the said Apple devices.
It is unknown if the Level Lock+ will work with Apple's Matter integration for now. Additionally, it also works with NFC cards and guest sharing for the lock.
Apple and its Smart Home Devices
Apple is a company that centers on technology and innovation, and they are not passing on an opportunity to create devices for the home that delivers safety, security, and connectivity for all.
One of its most famous features for the house is the Apple HomeKit, it allows all devices to connect in a single ecosystem for all smart home devices available.
Smart homes were first defined as devices that can obey commands from smartphones without users needing to access them in person, making multitasking available for users.
There are several techs from Apple that centers on having smart home integration, including that of its HomePod series which delivers a smart speaker that can link one device to the other. The original HomePod is already discontinued and is only available via old stocks from retailers which have high demand earlier this year.
Apple is strengthening its entry towards smart home technology access for the public from its products, and it includes its role as collaborators for the Matter initiative with Google, Samsung, Amazon, and more. The new Level Lock+ is a nifty device if one wants an Apple-made product to protect them, with the device unlockable with only their phones or watches authenticating the lock.
