Samsung One UI 5: Bixby to Debut Text Call Feature if You Do Not Feel Talking when Taking a Call—Like Google’s

Bixby will speak for you, all you have to do is type.

Samsung is bringing new features for its One UI 5, and it aims to deliver many developments from its version of Android for its Galaxy smartphones. It is now assigned a new feature for Bixby, with the "Text Call Feature" to help users avoid the need to talk and type their way, even on calls with the new user interface system.

The feature debuted on Google's Android 13, focusing on the Pixel phones to get this feature first, before the rest of the Android devices.

The famous South Korean tech giant announced via a news release that the One UI 5 will debut a new feature for all Galaxy smartphone users via its smart AI assistant.

It is the Bixby Text Call feature that will allow users to type in the message they wish to speak to others, with Samsung's AI voicing the user's texts.

Samsung details its focus on communications, something that would help in delivering a new experience for the public to their calling preferences. It may help in the need to avoid certain calls or respond to those despite sickness and who cannot speak.

Additionally, it centers to deliver on allowing people to communicate in the manner they prefer, and this allows them to do it.

How will Bixby's Text to Call Feature Work?

According to CNET, it is both the same and different from Google's Text to-Speech feature that takes over the call for the user. Bixby will still act as an assistant for many, and it will let people know that their calls will be managed by the smart AI.

It will also work on-device and deliver a transcription where Bixby will also transcribe what the other party has said throughout the call for the users to review.

Android and its Text Call Feature

Google brought the Text to Call feature for Pixel phones to deliver a way for people to convey their messages without needing to speak or converse with the other end of the line. It presents a way to give voice to those who have speech impairments or disorders that prevent them from conveying what the receiver would hear.

It also serves as a way for users to focus directly on calls, especially if their background produces loud noises or has broken mics on their devices.

The foundation for UIs found on smartphones (except for iPhones) starts with the base Android OS from Google, delivering the Android 13 for all. The upcoming Samsung One UI 5 is a testament to Android in the South Korean experience, also featuring key offers from Google to appear with Galaxy devices and such.

For Samsung's Bixby to debut a Text to Call feature like Google's is a copy of its feature available on Pixel phones, but the feature may also arrive with Android for the use of others. However, Samsung's features are deeply integrated with its Phone app, with the South Korean tech offering a built-in call and messaging app, with Bixby soon powering it for their needs.
