The POCO brand is releasing another unit that aims to provide the best possible specs at still affordable prices. The new device is called the POCO F5, and its specs were leaked ahead of its supposed launch.
POCO F5 Expected to be Equipped with Two Notable Features
Before everything else, it's important to note that these leaks still have to be confirmed by the company itself. This means that buyers should still take the details with caution since they could be changed upon the official announcement of the device.
The leaks come from Xiaomiui, which details how the upcoming POCO F5 will be equipped with two notable features. The first feature is its 120 Hz refresh rate, and the second feature is that it will be packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.
POCO Learned from What Happened with the POCO F3 and the POCO F4
This will be the very first time that the company will adopt the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processors in its high-end devices. This move is also not common in other high-end devices in smartphones from other companies as well.
According to the story by Giz China, due to the similarity between the POCO F3 and the POCO F4, not a lot of buyers decided to purchase the newer model. The article notes that POCO really took the customer feedback and is changing it for the upcoming POCO F5.
Notable Specs for the POCO F5 Include 2K Resolution and a 120Hz Refresh Rate
On top of the refresh rate and processor, there will also be an added 2K resolution screen. What makes this feat quite amazing is that POCO was able to provide a 120Hz refresh rate for a 2K screen resolution, all packed in its POCO F5 device.
So far, the only other unit that was capable of doing this was the POCO F4 PRO which had a screen with 2K resolution as well. The leak notes that since the POCO F4 is generally a rebranded version of the Redmi K40, the POCO F5 could also be a rebrand of a different model.
IMEI Database Links the POCO F5 to Two Different Smartphones but Sources Say It Is Likely a Redmi K60 Rebrand
The information coming from the IMEI Database refers to two different smartphones. One of them comes from Redmi, while the other one comes from POCO.
The article by Giz China notes that other sources say that the POCO F5 is most likely a rebrand of the Redmi K60. This, however, was not confirmed.
