As noted by the website Brickset, those holding off on purchasing expensive sets like the 10302 Optimus Prime or the 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 could take advantage of the deal to get more points upon purchase.
2x VIP Points Will Help Buyers Get Points Faster
The LEGO website specifies that the 2x VIP points will help buyers accumulate points faster, and should new buyers be interested in becoming VIP members, they will get a free LEGO keychain.
The website also specifies what buyers would be getting when they decide to become VIP members. It was specified that instead of using promo codes to purchase LEGO, VIP members could earn VIP points whenever they buy LEGO products.

2x VIP Points Only Available for a Limited Period of Time
The VIP points can reportedly be used to gain access to exclusive rewards, VIP gifts, or discounts. The website also clarifies that the 2x VIP points event will not last forever and will be a limited-time event.
VIP LEGO buyers will only be able to get double the VIP points when they make purchases from October 10, 2022, until October 16, 2022. It was also specified that the offer would only be available until the supply lasts.
There will be no need to manually claim the rewards as the website notes that VIP buyers gain points from making purchases in the LEGO Store will be added directly to their account. Buyers that reportedly make their purchase either online or over the phone will see the VIP points show up in their account over the span of 24 hours.
