The 2023 Chevy Silverado EV is one of the most anticipated electric vehicles next year, and now, there are more details with the demonstration of its prototype charging at an Electrify America charging station.
The Details
Chevy's Silverado EV will be the first purpose-built EV pickup in the coming year. Let's get down to the details!
The wheels on the Chevy Silverado EV seemed to be smaller compared to the prototype Silverado EV at road shows. It also features sporty fins that are similar to Chevy's own 2001-2013 Avalanche. The fins are important to the aero package and will help save EV miles.
In addition to this, it will have up to 664 horsepower with over 780 lb-ft of torque in available max power in Wide Open Watts Mode on RST that allows for a GM-estimated 0-60 mph time of fewer than 4.5 seconds.
It also has 10,000 pounds of maximum trailering with up to 1,300 pounds of payload on RST. It has a standard DC fast charging of up to 350kW on WT and RST and up to 10.2 kW of offboarding power on WT and RST with optional equipment.
According to General Motors (GM), the Silverado EV was "designed from the ground up to drive circles around the competition" as the company aims to be a leader in the EV space.
Also, with its recent partnership with a battery manufacturer and research group, it's likely that the company will have a few surprises in the future.
CEO Mary Barra also said that the Silverado EV will be "unmatched" when you compare everything it has to offer versus the competition today.

Electric Trucks to Look Forward To in 2023
Aside from the Chevy Silverado EV, there are other electric trucks worth looking forward to in the coming year. In fact, around 150 EVs are arriving in US showrooms between now and the end of 2026, which means that those who are thinking of getting on board with electrification will have many choices to choose from.
One of the EV trucks that are gaining interest as early as now is the 2024 Ram. 1500 EV, which will debut in November of this year. However, production will probably start in late 2023 with a 2024 release date. There is also the Tesla Cybertruck, which is expected to be big, loud, and powerful.
Electric trucks are definitely here, and they will be more to come. Sooner or later, consumers will have a wider range to choose from.
