Google Pixel 6a Spotted Selling Lower than Ever at Just $349: Worth It at $100 Off?

The Google Pixel 6a has just been spotted selling for its lowest price ever at just $349. The real question now is whether the smartphone is worth its $100 discount, especially since a newer version is coming out soon.

Google Pixel 6a Spotted Selling at a $100 Discount Dropping Its Price from $449 to Just $349

When it comes to technology, most people know that the lowest prices usually come for models that aren't really new or are about to be replaced with something newer. This seems like the case for the Pixel 6a as Google is preparing to launch its newer product soon.

Although not confirmed, this could be the reason why the Pixel 6a is now selling at a record low price on Amazon. To be more specific, the smartphone's price has dropped from $449 to just $349 with a $100 discount.

The Pixel 6a is Known as a Popular Sub-$500 Smartphone for Those on a Budget

According to the story by Tom's Guide, the $100 discount is being offered at a time when Google is just a few days from officially launching its Google Pixel 7 and the Google Pixel 7 Pro. With that, the discounted prices could help eliminate excess inventory and make way for the newer models.

The Pixel 6a was well known for being a sub-$500 smartphone that doesn't lack too much in specs compared to more expensive models. The smartphone is already packed with 5G technology and has a memory space of 128GB.

Pixel 6a is Packed with the Titan M2 Chip and the Google Tensor Security Code

As per its product listing on Amazon, the smartphone already comes with IP67 protection, which makes the smartphone resistant to dust and a little water. This would allow owners to use the smartphone despite being in harsher environments.

Another thing about the smartphone is that it is built with privacy and security in mind, with the Titan M2 chip being added along with the Google Tensor security core in order to make the Pixel phone capable of handling harsher attacks.

One thing that might be a turnoff for owners, however, is that its battery life only lasts up to 24 hours, as per its Amazon posting. It does, however, support wireless charging, which helps make the device more convenient to charge.

According to CNet, Google will be launching its Made by Google event in New York, and among other announcements, the introduction of the Pixel 7, as well as the Pixel 7 Pro, are expected to be included.

As per the article, the newer models will be sporting a second-gen Tensor chip which could be an upgrade from the basic Tensor security core being used in the Google Pixel 6a. Although the release date for the upcoming Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro has not yet been released, the article notes that they should launch in October.
