iOS 16 users can now customize their lock screen on the latest iteration of the Apple iPhone. From here, you can access various widgets and even make a unique wallpaper of your choice.
Although the newest operating system offers seamless customization perks, it has a downside, especially for lock screen switchers: the limited number of lock screens that you can only use.
iOS 16 Custom Lock Screens Are Limited
As seen by 9to5Mac on Reddit, a Redditor posted a picture that reads "Wallpaper Limited Reached." Below this phrase, there's a sentence that states that "to create a new wallpaper, you need to delete one first."
According to the original author of the post, the iOs 16 only permits the use of up to 200 custom lock screens on an iPhone. If you already hit the limit, you will be asked to remove one of the pre-existing lock screens before you make a new one.
Although this isn't a deal breaker for other iPhone users, some people think that Apple needs to change this setting, especially for those who always want to change their lock screens.
If you're wondering if you could take a peek at each lock screen option instantly, the answer is no. You have to see each of them by swiping and no guaranteed shortcut would allow you to see your desired lock screen right away.
Speaking of limitations, the Cupertino giant has already implemented the same with its screen widgets. The company has limited the movement of the clock and the widgets on the display.
If you want to replace the shortcuts for your games and other stuff, there's no way you could do that even if you explore the Settings of your iPhone.
Regardless, the iPhone maker has made a huge improvement in introducing a unique way to customize each lock screen. If in the future the company decides to ditch the limitation, it could be a time that people could test more customization tricks on their lock screens.

Did Samsung Just Clone Apple's Lock Screen Feature?
In another story by BGR, Samsung was discovered to have a similar lock screen feature to Apple. After the launch of iOS 16, many users saw some similarities in the interface of the One UI5 to Apple's newest OS.
It should be noted that the two lock screen interfaces are quite identical yet 9to5Mac noted that the customization options are entirely different if you will take a closer look.
Samsung offers up to five styles of the Lock Screen lock while Apple rolls out eight options for it. The same goes with the wallpaper picker's choices which are unique from one another.
