Ubisoft says it is working to bring Stadia games to PCs as Google is killing its cloud gaming service.
The Assassin's Creed maker announced its move to save Stadia gaming titles a day after the abrupt Stadia shutdown was made official.
Ubisoft is Bringing Stadia Games to PC
Google has finally admitted that its cloud gaming service is hitting its final curtain call in January 2023.
As per the latest report by Euro Gamer, the search engine giant denied such a move back in June. But this time, it looks like its plans have completely changed.
After the confirmation of Stadia's farewell, Ubisoft was quick to share its plans for soon-to-be-displaced Stadia gamers.
The gaming firm behind games like Far Cry revealed its plan is moving forward in the recent tweet of its official Ubisoft Support on Twitter.
The Assassin's Creed maker announces that it is currently working to bring Stadia games to PC. And it would seamlessly be possible via its desktop app, Ubisoft Connect.
Ubisoft Support only gave scant details regarding its plan to allow Stadia gamers to still get their hands on their cloud gaming titles on PC.
But despite that, the gaming giant assures that it will "have more to share regarding specific details as well as the impact for Ubisoft+ subscribers at a later date."
According to a recent report by Dexerto, the Far Cry maker failed to give the timeline when it plans to allow Stadia gamers to enjoy their games on PCs.
And as such, it is still unclear whether the migration would be possible as soon as Google shuts down its cloud gaming service.
Google Kills Stadia
A report from CNET says that Google Stadia is ceasing its operations on January 18, 2023.
However, it looks like the search giant is making sure that the players of its cloud gaming service would not end up merely losing their money.
Google assures Stadia gamers that it is giving them full refunds on their purchases before the gaming platform hits its final curtain call.
The Vice President and General Manager of Stadia, Phil Harrison, explains the decision of Google to kill the gaming service in his recent statement.
The Stadia exec notes that the cloud gaming platform was actually "built on a strong technology foundation. But even with that in place, it turns out that the service "hasn't gained the traction with users" contrary to their expectations," Harrison reveals.
