For fans of the popular anime thief, it looks like collaboration is finally happening with "Lupin III" and McDonald's drive-thru. A teaser video shows how Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon pass by a McDonald's to order, but it seems like Fujiko's order was forgotten by Lupin.
McDonald's and Its Collaborations with Different Animes
McDonald's is no stranger to collaborations with different cartoons, series, and movies. When a mere joke about the Szechuan sauce forced McDonald's to bring it back due to the massive lines and success it brought, as seen on Polygon, it's clear that pop culture has a huge influence on McDonald's.
When it comes to anime, McDonald's has done collaborations in the past with the likes of "Demon Slayer" and other titles. What makes the collaboration with "Lupin III" interesting is because that particular anime is an old classic and not one of the newer animes.
Teaser Shows Lupin Forgetting Fujiko's Order
According to the story by Anime News Network, the teaser shows Lupin forgetting Fujiko's order. Luckily, Goemon remembered t use the McDonald's mobile app's Drive Through function in order to get the order right.
This is basically the gist of the whole teaser without any mention of new products or packaging that buyers can expect. There was, however, a tweet that showed the silhouette of Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon with the text "Will that taste come to McDonald's?" in Japanese.
Teaser Shows how the Trio Used the App to Make the Order
An official YouTube video was uploaded to the McDonald's Japan channel showing the teaser of the three using the app, in the end, to make up for Lupin forgetting the order. The teaser used the popular-themed jazz music most fans love from the anime series itself.
Daisuke Jigen was Spotted Eating a French Fry
In the video, fans can see Daisuke Jigen eating a McDonald's french fry as the trio drive off speedily in true "Lupin III" fashion. The collaboration with the popular anime was in order for the fast-food giant to promote its new Drive-thru mobile app in Japan.
According to Crunchy Roll, the app allows users to order in advance, pay without using cash ahead of time, and even pick the order up as soon as they drive to avoid the hassle. The feature being promoted in the teaser was the one that allowed users to order in advance.

Fujiko Used an 'Order in Advance' Feature from the McDonald's App
The "order in advance" feature was used by Fujiko in order to make sure that Lupin would not forget her order. This is a different approach to most of McDonald's anime collaborations wherein the result is usually products.
It has not yet been confirmed if McDonald's will be releasing "Lupin III" items but so far, the collaboration has covered the trio's use of the Drive-Thru feature on the McDonald's mobile app.
