Android Auto’s Coolwalk UI: Spotify Widget Comes Split Screen with Navigation—Here’s a Look

Coolwalk is all for the music, and people are waiting.

Google is bringing an update for Android Auto with the new Coolwalk UI, but that got delayed for its release several days ago for unknown reasons from the company. Still, leaks are showing what the experience looks like for those who already have it for their car stereos, focusing on the music-centered approach with a split screen for Spotify.

A Reddit post leaked the latest Android Auto update to the world, and it presents a look at the new Coolwalk UI which aims to deliver on the latest feature Google developed for all. One of the most notable features here is the split-screen integration that will center on music, particularly that of Spotify which now sports a new widget on the display.

A user who streams Spotify and has an account on their Android phone may mirror it to their infotainment system, with its controls available in the experience.

It is the latest integration by Google to make Android Auto more functional instead of focusing on one screen for navigation. The Spotify widget is allowing people to control their music while navigating, and it is still unknown which apps are available for this upcoming feature.

Android Auto Update Delayed

The only problem now is that people will have to wait for Google to drop the Android Auto update for its availability on the car's radio as it saw delays earlier this week. According to Android Central, it is unknown when Google would bring the update available to users for their Android Auto experience, but it still is one highly-anticipated upgrade to the Coolwalk UI.

Google's Android Auto

Google's Assistant previously replaced Android Auto for the smartphone screens available to the public, but that does not mean that the feature is already done for or would be inaccessible. Car infotainment systems will still connect the device via Android Auto for the Google operating system for the smartphone, and it will still bring its features to all.

Android Auto is a known competitor of Apple CarPlay, with both features offering smartphone integration to the public's car stereo which aims to avoid the use of phones while driving. It centers on the basic needs of the vehicle, particularly with navigation and music streaming, with integrated applications also offering their services here.

The world is still heavily reliant on these technologies for their drive as it is an inexpensive way to navigate and enjoy apps via the car radio.

The upcoming update for Android Auto is much awaited by many, especially with the Coolwalk UI which aims to deliver on all the new features from the company. Additionally, it already arrives with the split-screen feature that is not available before but the full list of apps is not yet available, with the public only knowing about Spotify.
