The NTSB is now pushing for implementation and requirement for new vehicles to have blood alcohol monitoring systems for cars released in the country. It is the regulator's effort to rid the world of many drunk drivers who present massive harm to others on the road, especially as it is a significant problem over time.

According to the NHTSA, there are 32 people killed daily due to alcohol-related incidents in the country, and it is a massive number of deaths relating to vehicular accidents due to liquor. The safety board wants to solve this problem with technology, a feature that would measure blood alcohol content so that safety and order are enforced in the streets.

NHTSA, NTSB to Implement Rule for All

The NTSB is now calling upon the NHTSA for help and implementation of this new rule, also a known approved law from the US government. Once this applies, all new vehicles that would sell and register in the country would bring the technology and help with avoiding future accidents of drunk driving.

Vehicles would determine if the driver is eligible to drive or not, and it may mean that drunk people would not be able to depart if their results exceed the legal blood alcohol content.
