The boss of PlayStation expects this to be the case with the PSVR 2 when it officially launches. According to the story by Game Pur, as of press time, there has already started to be a lot of technical talk regarding the PlayStation VR 2.
Shuhei Yoshida Talks About His Belief in Indie Games Live
Aside from eye-tracking, 4K HDR, headset feedback, and other specs, what really matters is what particular titles are available for fans to play. Shuhei Yoshida, the boss of PlayStation, believes that there would be a wave of VR indie games upon the launch of the new PSVR 2 when it arrives.
Yoshida is the head of the Independent Developer Initiative by PlayStation and has had a recent appearance during the annual GI Live summit by GI.biz. During his appearance, he noted that he believes strongly especially when it came to the indie scene.
Other Popular Titles Expected to Come to the PlayStation VR 2
The PlayStation head noted that there will be large titles included like "Horizon: Call of the Mountain" as well as "Resident Evil Village." At the end of the day, however, there will be other indie games that are willing to take the risk of developing titles for VR.
Yoshida noted that indie developers have been long waiting for the coming of the VR boom. This would allow them a new platform where they might be able to compete with the uniqueness of the game they have to offer.
Certain Indie Titles Like 'No Man's Sky' are Already Expected
The head of PlayStation's Independent Development Initiative reportedly referenced Tetsuya Mizuguchi of "Rez" and "Tetris Effect" since the director had expressed their interest in the past of being able to develop a game for the upcoming PSVR 2 console.
As of press time, one of the most notable titles expected to come to VR is "No Man's Sky" which has already been promised for the PSVR 2. Yoshida announced that the VR usually gets a lot of triple-A spinoffs or extra content for titles that already exist.
The article by Game Pur notes that this indeed happened in the past and that the original PSVR headset did see the addition of different indie games.
