Is Google down? This is the latest question asked by Malwarebytes users after they experienced several issues on the Chrome browser, as well as other Google-owned websites and services.
The problems began on Sept. 21. However, experts clarified that Google services are not suffering from any outage since Malwarebytes users were the only ones experiencing problems.
On the other hand, Malwarebytes also confirmed that the issues were on their end.
"We are aware of a temporary issue with the web filtering component of our product that may be blocking certain domains, including https://google.com," said the American internet security company via its official Twitter post.
Google Down? Malwarebytes Users Experience Chrome Outage
According to Digital Trends, Malwarebytes Inc. said there was only one fix for the issue. This is specifically deactivating the Malwarebytes app on users' ends.

Before the fix was rolled out, the internet cybersecurity service provider guided the users on how to disable their web protection temporarily.
Here are the steps that Malwarebytes provided:
- First, open the Malwarebytes app.
- After that, look for the Real-Time Protection card, which is located on the lower right.
- Then, turn off the Web Protection feature.
Is There Already a Fix for Malwarebytes Issues?
Thanks to the efforts of Malwarebytes, the issue on their web filtering component-which blocks certain domains-has been fixed.
The internet security firm announced the update 17 hours after the problem appeared.
Malwarebytes Inc. announced that they have already rolled out an update, which should already be automatically available on users' ends.
But, the tech company said that consumers still need to ensure that their Malwarebytes client is updated to the latest version.
If you are still experiencing issues on Google Chrome and other Google-owned services and websites, just follow these steps:
- Open Malwarebytes for Windows.
- Click the Settings button to the right. Then select the About tab to view the Version Information.
- Click Check for updates to search for the latest Malwarebytes updates.
- Malwarebytes for Windows will check for any protection database updates. This process may take a few moments.
On the other hand, Google Photos Memories received a new update that helps users reminisce.
