iPhone 14 Pro users are complaining of Apple CarPlay phone call issues, wherein they experience some difficulty trying to talk to the other end.
The phone call issues seemingly only appear on the higher-end flagship smartphones of Apple, the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which start at a premium price tag of $1,000.
iPhone 14 Pro Users Report Apple CarPlay Phone Call Issues
Apple has started shipping its all-new iPhone 14 lineup to its first set of customers.
It comes after the Cupertino giant debuted its new flagship device during its Far Out event. The renowned tech giant also introduced the next-generation AirPods Pro and Apple Watch.
And now, shortly after the much-hyped launch of the new iPhone models, some users are making a fuss about their early issues.
A news story by Mac Rumors reports that higher-end iPhone 14 users are now complaining about an issue while using CarPlay.
It looks like these early adopters of the new Apple phone are experiencing a bit of struggle when making phone calls via CarPlay in their vehicles.
Mac Rumors notes in its report that iPhone 14 Pro users are storming various forums and social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit to share their awful experiences. Not to mention, some of these folks went straight to the Apple Support Community.
How Bad is the iPhone 14 CarPlay Phone Call Issue
The complaints of iPhone 14 Pro users are pretty consistent.
Some iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max users say that phone calls via CarPlay appear to have made their voice sound very distant. In turn, the other end could barely hear them.
A Reddit user shares that the iPhone 14 Pro Max microphone seems "extremely quiet" while making calls from CarPlay. The post notes that the iPhone 12 Pro Max did not have the same issue with iOS 16.0.1 and CarPlay.
So it sure looks like the issue is isolated to the newer phones, specifically the premium "Pro" models.
Mac Rumors reports that their team also experienced the problem. The news outlet notes that it only triggers when they are calling using the wired CarPlay. But the voice issue vanished into thin air when they tried to make a phone call using hands-free Bluetooth.
However, it is worth noting that it remains to be seen if using hands-free Bluetooth addresses the issue for all users. Plus, Apple has yet to acknowledge the CarPlay issue with its new iPhone 14 Pro models.
