'GTA 6' Early Footage Seemingly Leaks Online, Rockstar Files Search Warrants Against 'GTA: Online' 'Infamous' Modders

As GTA 6 leaks spread online, Rockstar hunts down Australian modders.

Fans of the action-adventure game are having a field day on the Internet after a user shared what appears to be the first look at the much-anticipated sequel to the Grand Theft Auto title. People are currently arguing about the veracity of the leaked "Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI)" test built online.

'GTA 6' Early Footage Seemingly Leaks Online

According to PCGamer, the footage was obtained from a GTA Forums user referred to as "teapotuberhacker." "It is possible I could leak more data soon, "GTA 5" and 6 source code and assets, "GTA 6" testing build," the user said in a forum post.

The same report tells us that the user claims to have obtained the data from one of Rockstar's Slack groups. Besides that, this suggests that the user may have taken some steps similar to those pulled by the recent Uber cyberattacker in order to gain access to Rockstar's critical internal systems.

The aforementioned leaked clips from an early version of "GTA 6" quickly went viral on the Internet. The clips show a few minutes of footage of an establishment robbery, with a female character pointing her gun at several NPCs. Following that, police can be heard arriving on the scene, prompting the robbers to use a police car as an escape vehicle.

More Details About the 'GTA 6 Leak'

As per IGN, the footage shows full-voiced conversations as well as elaborately programmed gunplay. It is also worth noting that the characters appear to have to debug elements still visible throughout the game. If this version of the game is genuine, it is safe to say that it is far from the finished product. One of the police cars seen in the video has VCPD printed on the rear. This implies that, if the leaks are true, "GTA 6" will take place in Vice City. Vice City is a classic GTA map with two main islands based on the cityscape of Miami, Florida.

Rockstar and publisher Take-Two has yet to comment on the alleged GTA 6 leaks. In the meantime, people on the Internet are debating the authenticity of the alleged leaks, as many are actually surprised with GTA 6's first actual leak. Others, meanwhile, are making memes about how Rockstar will deal with the leaker.

'GTA: Online' Legal Team Files Search Warrant Against 'Infamous' Modders

In other GTA news, the legal teams of Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have filed a court order to search the computers of alleged Melbourne-based modders behind the "GTA: Online" Infamous cheat codes.

According to a Vice report, the search warrant named two Melbourne locations as the targets of the raid and authorized attorneys to enter the residences and vehicles of the targets to search, copy, and remove any relevant evidence, computers, or storage devices connected to the infamous cheat.

The Infamous mod allows "GTA: Online" players to do almost anything they want in the game for free. Players can use this cheat to summon the most valuable vehicles in the game, ranging from luxury cars to jets. According to reports, the cheat allows players to make characters bleed out organs and fireworks.
