AERWINS has brought their XTurismo to the US recently. The XTurismo is a hoverbike that is equipped with highly-advanced sensors and technology, as reported by Car Scoops.
According to The Detroit News, Shuhei Komatsu, the founder of AERWINS Technologies, "It's very exciting for us to be here in Detroit... Detroit is the home of the mobility industry."
The Hoverbike
The bike features a slender body with a gasoline-electric hybrid Kawasaki engine. It weighs about 661 pounds and can fly for approximately 40 minutes at speeds up to 62 mph.
The Xturismo is available at $777,000, which isn't cheap. However, the CEO plans to offer a smaller hoverbike by 2025, priced at $50,000 in the US.
For now, those who are interested to see the hoverbike can do so at the Detroit Auto Show.
In Japan, the Xturismo isn't considered an aircraft, which means that owners won't need a special license to fly it.

Flying Bikes of the Future
The Xturismo is one of several hoverbikes that have been making waves in the industry in recent years.
Hoverbikes are vehicles that are designed to fly without needing runways. These bikes have been the stuff of dreams, thanks to science fiction classics like Star Wars.
In reality, hoverbikes have been difficult to create because of the heavy weight and power needed for flight. However, like many other vehicles in their nascent stages, the hoverbike has evolved rapidly over the years.
The radical concept that was once just a fantasy has become a reality. The bike will allow people to easily travel to remote places and for military applications as well.
Although it is still currently too expensive to be a household item, the XTurismo has been hailed as a sign of the future. Once the bikes are more affordable, they can help people travel faster and more safely. Such bikes also have commercial value.
For example, they can be used to assist in the delivery of packages and cargo. Moreover, their maintenance costs are also lower than a helicopter.
Lastly, these bikes are more environmentally friendly, since they run on hybrid engines, which means they will help reduce oil consumption and emissions.
Flying motorcycles and bikes have been featured in films such as Captain America: The First Avenger and Blade Runner 2049.
These futuristic vehicles may soon become a reality, as evidenced by the XTurismo's debut in Detroit. For now, hoverbike creators and engineers are still working on improving their safety, as well as designing more efficient engines.
The bike is an exciting development in transportation, and we can't wait to see how it will evolve in the future. With any luck, someday they will be as common and as accessible as the car.
