But, as health protocols eased in many countries, the billionaire confirmed that the automaker's staff are required to go back to their physical offices.

The Tesla CEO confirmed this via an email sent to employees on May 31. He said they must spend a minimum of 40 hours in the office every week.

They claimed that Tesla couldn't increase its physical offices since the company is busy constructing international hubs and a new factory in Texas.

On the other hand, some Tesla employees in San Francisco Bay Area allegedly don't have enough desk space, parking spots, chairs, and other essential resources.

Thus, they struggled to complete their in-office schedules. This forced the company to require staff to report to their offices twice a week.

According to Teslarati's latest report, one out of eight Tesla employees at Fremont Factory is absent on a daily basis.
