Paired Power has unveiled a new modular solar EV charger. The California-based tech firm debuted its latest solar-powered product on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
As of writing, charging networks commonly rely on power grids. For example, some Tesla Supercharger stations have their own solar panels to save power.
However, the majority of the automaker's EV chargers are grid-reliant. The new modular off-grid solar EV charger of Paired Power is expected to give electric car owners another option.
The new PairTree is a transportable solar canopy with built-in EV charging capabilities. It can work without relying on power grids and can be hooked into a grid.

According to Electrek's latest report, Paired Power's latest solar EV charger comes in 5 kW units using 10 bifacial solar panels in each station.

These can also be customized with lighting, media, and branding options. When it comes to power, the new PairTree offers a Level 2 charging capability.
Paired Power's modular solar AC charging station also provides 120V outlets, which can be added to support emergency or temporary power.
But, one of the most interesting things about PairTree is its easy-to-install mechanics.
Paired Power explained that two people could install the new modular solar-powered EV charging station in four hours.
"One of the biggest benefits of PairTree's solar canopy design and model is that you can start charging on day one," said the company's CEO, Tom McCalmont.
Why PairTree is a Big Deal
As of press time, many places across the globe already have EV charging stations prepared for electric car owners. However, some of these areas have already maxed out their local grid capacity.
This means they can no longer connect new charging stations to their power grids.
Since this is the case, the areas experience EV charging station limitations, which can affect the rising number of EV owners.
Now, PairTree's flexible design can solve this situation. Because it can work without relying on power grids, electric car owners can easily install the new modular solar EV charging at ease.
On the other hand, Solar Industry also reported that PairTree could optimize EV charging loads to deliver up to 75 miles of the average daily EV range.
This is higher compared to the daily EV range estimation of the 2022 McKinsey & Company Report. If you want to learn more about the new product of Paired Power, you can visit this link.
On the other hand, the Tesla lithium finery for EV batteries may soon start its construction in Texas.
Meanwhile, Toyota's billion-dollar investment has been allocated to EV battery production.
