Nintendo Direct Rumors Say the Event Could Happen Despite having to Delay Due to the Passing of the Queen
According to the story by Comic Book, despite not a lot of news regarding its Nintendo Direct event, rumors have been suggesting that the event was held off. Since the start of September, these rumors suggested that a Direct event could be happening within the month.
Although it seemed like the event would have been pushed even further due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, other rumors are suggesting that the event could push through some time soon.
Due to the Recent Happenings, Nintendo Decided Not to Announce the Direct Event
The article notes that the information comes from Jeff Grubb saying the company is planning for its Direct event to happen some time during the second half of the week. As per a tweet by Grubb, the event could be happening within that window.
Grubb said that the delay of the event was because of the passing of the Queen of England. With the touchy subject, it was noted that "Nintendo chose not to announce the Direct within recent days."
Lack of Announcements Caused Confusion for Fans
The lack of announcements has caused confusion and concern among a number of fans. Despite what was happening, Grubb said that the new showcase should still be happening some time soon.
In a transcription by VGC, Grubb said that he was sick of talking about the event and that they just want Nintendo to announce it. He then said that it seems that the event could happen some time soon.
Grubb Said the Event Could be Moved Due to the Heart of the Tokyo Game Show Happening on Thursday
Grubb also said that the company usually holds its Nintendo Direct event on Thursday but the near Thursday would be the heart of the Tokyo Game Show. Due to this, it was stated that the company would need to launch the event earlier.
It was also made clear that Nintendo has not yet formally announced the Direct event. Due to the lack of an official announcement, fans should not get too excited regarding the upcoming event.

What Fans are Expecting to Happen During the Nintendo Direct Event
With this being said, should the Nintendo Direct event really push through, the event is expected to release more information about both the Metroid and Zelda franchises. To be more specific, one particular thing that fans might be able to expect is the remastered version of Metroid Prime.
The new "Metroid Prime" is expected to be announced along the potential ports "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" and "The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker" for Switch. When the event does push through new titles are expected to launch on the platform.
