The Steam Deck was Valve's entry to the console world, and although not competing with larger consoles, it remains a strong contender when it comes to handheld consoles. Without many surprises, it has remained on top of Valve's store for 15 weeks straight.
Steam Deck Unsurprisingly Becomes the Top of the Weekly Steam Chart
While the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X directly rival each other, the Nintendo Switch has remained without direct competition until the launch of the Steam Deck. Now, although the Steam Deck is arguably not as popular as the Switch, it has been able to enter the handheld console market.
In an article by Game-News24, the Steam Deck has unsurprisingly become the head of the weekly Steam chart. The console has reportedly been able to outsell all the different games and other offerings on the Valve Store.
The Console was Able to Remain on the List for 15 Weeks Straight
The publication noted that they tried to observe just how many times the Steam Deck was able to reign on the list, and they were able to find that it did, in fact, remain number one on the chart for 15 weeks straight.
There was only one instance that the game did not take the top spot, and that was way back on May 29 when the console lost first place to a game called "V." This, however, doesn't mean that there are more consoles bought compared to Steam games.
Steam Deck Makes the Most Revenue Thus Its Top Spot
The article clarified that the top spot isn't completely just formed by the number of copies being sold of games or their console, it actually has to do with revenue. This means that compared to other games, Steam Deck has been able to make the most revenue.
This means that no matter how popular a game might be, if it does not end up making Valve enough money, it won't be able to top the charts just like the Steam Deck does.

Steam Deck Price for Different Memory Points
This, however, is not that surprising since the Steam Deck price sits at $399 for the 64 GB Steam Deck version, $529 for the 256 GB Steam Deck version, and $649 for the upgraded 512 GB Steam Deck version as seen on PC Gamer.
The article by Game-News24 notes that due to the price of the Steam Deck being "expensive," Valve did not have to sell too many devices just for the console to take the top place. Despite being at the top place, Valve has not disclosed the sales that its Steam Deck was able to gather.
No sales numbers on the Steam Deck make it hard for gamers to gauge whether the handheld console has wide spreads which results in massive profits for Valve or fair spreads making the console not too expensive for gamers. Xbox's New Menu Starts its Testing Phase Ahead of 2023 Release.
