Google's Pixel Android tablet might get its second "Pro" variant by next year or in 2023 as the tech giant is reportedly gearing up for its release.
The search engine tech giant announced that the next-generation Pixel tablet is seeing the light of day in 2023. However, Google only gave scant details and did not mention if a new "Pro" variant is releasing by next year.
Google Pixel Tablet Pro?
However, as per the news story by 9to5 Google, it appears that the renowned tech giant is working on the next "Pro" variant of its Android tablet offering in time for its potential release next year.
It is worth noting that Google first teased the upcoming Pixel tablet, alongside the Pixel 7 smartphone, during the I/O 2022 event last May.
But since then, the tech giant has yet to release anything official regarding these new Pixel mobile devices. Despite that, numerous leaks and rumors have sprouted like mushrooms online, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from these next-generation devices from Google.
And this time, 9to5 Google amusingly discovered that the phone maker is likely working to release the second iteration of its "Pro" Pixel tablet sometime next year. Given that, it looks like this new variant is debuting along with the rumored Pixel 7 smartphone several months from now.
What to Expect from the 'Pro' Variant
According to a recent report by Android Police, the upcoming Google Pixel Tablet is most likely to sport a handy built-in stylus.
And what's more, there are a couple of rumors hinting that it would also support 64-bit apps, the news outlet adds.
But on top of that, the next Pixel tablet is expected to feature the first-generation in-house chip of Google, the Tensor system on chip (SoC).
Interestingly, the upcoming Android tablet seems to be leaving out support for connectivity features like GPS or cellular.
All that said, 9to5 Google suggests that the next-gen Pixel tablet is more like an alternative to the Nest Hub or, better yet, a replacement. It comes as it is also expected to miss out on any camera features.
And as such, it appears to be more like a smart home device, which gets extra power thanks to the Tensor chip.
However, the latest Android 13 Beta code seen by 9to5 Google hints at a Pro variant, which goes by the codename "tangorpro."
It remains to be seen how the tech giant is going about this alleged Pro tablet option. But it could seemingly be a more expanded version of the Android device rather than what appears to be merely a smart home offering.
