A rumored Nintendo Direct event that should have launched in September has been delayed. The unannounced showcase has been pushed back due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Nintendo Delays Rumored Direct Event Due to the Passing of Queen Elizabeth II
According to the story by GamePur, Nintendo Directs have started to become a common source of information regarding Switch updates along with other products by the company. Fans are now anticipating that the next event could take longer than usual.
An early Nintendo Direct event has been rumored but the company never released an official confirmation regarding the happening. The plot starts to thicken even more as the showcase, which remained unannounced, is reportedly going to be delayed due to Queen Elizabeth II's passing.
The Recent Happening is a Big Deal for Those in the UK
The article notes that although the news might not be a big deal for those located outside of the UK, Nintendo has decided to hold off the event out of respect for the Queen. News of the delay coming from two different sources started to spread at the same time.
Jeff Grubb of Giant Bomb tweeted out saying the Nintendo Direct has likely been delayed due to the passing of the queen. Grubb referenced Quarterdann on Giant Bomb on Twitch. Grubb also made it clear that "Nintendo never announced a Direct" in the first place.
Third-Party Partners of Nintendo Yet to Receive Word of the Direct Being Moved
Third-party partners of Nintendo have also not received any news from the company regarding the delay. Mike Minotti, the managing editor of GamesBeat and a former coworker of Grubb's, also said the same thing.
Minotti tweeted out that the Nintendo Direct "might be delayed" due to the passing of the Queen. Minotti also highlighted in a follow-up tweet to his thread that the event "MIGHT BE" delayed providing room for uncertainty.
Other Claims Regarding the Near Nintendo Direct Event
Despite the delay for a Nintendo Direct event that hasn't really been fully confirmed, fans are still waiting for the next Nintendo Direct event and hope that it launches soon. The most recent event showcased different games like "Splatoon 3" in August.
As per an article by The Gamer, both Mike Minotti and Jeff Grubb recently claimed that the company wanted to do a "Zelda blowout" of a Direct. The event would have reportedly seen the announcement of Twilight Princess as well as Wind Waker HD ports.

Similar Delay Happened Upon News of the Russia and Ukraine Incident
It was noted that the company also did something similar when the event with Russia and Ukraine broke out. The company decided to delay one of its game's releases due to an unexpected event suddenly happening.
The good news is that although the game's release was delayed, it still pushed through later on. This could be a sign that Nintendo would later still push forward with the event at a more appropriate time.
