The Polestar 2 seems to be getting a new look. Autocar shared on Twitter early this week a black Polestar 2 that hints at a new front end design.
The original Polestar 2 has a grille with a brick-like design, that features clear blocks visible along the grille's bottom area. On the new prototype, the covered grille has a finer and more closely placed vertical details. This suggests a different look for the 2023 model.
The wheels also have a new 19" 5-double spoke black diamond cut alloys that come standard with new Polestar 2 orders. Based on the Polestar Australia website, there are three wheel options available:
1. 19" five-double spoke
2. 20" 5-V spoke black silver alloys (additional $1,400)
3. 20" 4-Y spoke black polished forged alloys (available on the dual-motor long-range variant)
Also recently, the EV maker updated its current Polestar 2 with the introduction of Apple CarPlay connectivity, cruise control improvements, and boost efficiency and real-world range. The latest over-the-air updates facilitates the model accommodating streaming apps in the future.

The Polestar 2
Ever since the launch of the Polestar 2 in early 2022, it has done well in sales. This is also the reason it was the best-selling EV in June and July as Tesla put ships on hold due to the shutdowns in their Shanghai factory.
However, Polestar had bouts of challenges in the past. In May, customers were told they had to re-order vehicles after the company was forced to pull certain features amid the global supply chain crisis.
Recently, the EV maker revealed its 3 model that will be on sale in 2023. Meanwhile, the Polestar 6 made its public debut at Pebble Beach, selling out its 500-strong order capacity in less than a week.
Still, the Polestar 2 is its biggest selling car next year, which makes the facelift vital in the face of the tighter EV competition today.
The Future of Electric Vehicles
There is no doubt that the future of electric vehicles will continue to brighten. This is because the industry is aiming to be more sustainable as everyone strives to achieve a fossil-fuel free world. The electrification of transportation will significantly contribute to that end.
Better yet, the more competitors and advancements in the EV market, the better for the industry, and for the consumer. That is why every player in the EV game must up their game as the consumer gets to enjoy more choices. This is because there is a lot at stake, especially in the next decade. We are starting to see more countries, including Britain and France, make energy-related announcements. Once the automakers are granted the necessary licenses to produce and sell EVs, the competition to be the best will be fierce.
