'Cyberpunk 2077' Last Major Update for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Drops: Cross-Platform Saves, Mod Management, and More

"Cyberpunk 2077" has reportedly been working on what it calls the last major update for both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. The improvements expected include cross-platform saves, mod management, and more.

'Cyberpunk 2077' Will Support Mods Through New Update

According to the website, the game will be getting a new performance mode for the Xbox Series S along with outfit improvements through the 1.6 Edgerunners update, which was previously announced with the Phantom Liberty DLC pack.

One update that really stands out, however, is the fact that "Cyberpunk 2077" will finally be supporting mods by launching official tools to help gamers install and make them. Just like the upcoming DLC, the article by The Verge notes that it seems like future updates would only be limited to the next-gen consoles.

1.6 Edgerunners Update will be the Last Major Update for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

As per CD Projekt Red's "Cyberpunk 2077," the 1.6 update will be the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One's "last major update" for the game. The update, as of press time, is still available for download on all platforms.

The modding tool, however, was only limited to the PC. This means that if players want to either install mods or try to create them, they will have to do so using the PC and not through the consoles.

Update File will be 39.6GB for the Xbox Series X

The update can be quite heavy since it takes up 39.6GB when downloaded on the Xbox Series X. The new wardrobe feature is going to be called the "transmog" system and will allow players to retain other stats despite changing their outfits.

The feature would help gamers avoid one of the most common RPG problems, having to choose between a good-looking outfit or an outfit that specifically helps improve the players' states.

Certain Content will be Censored in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Japan

Players will also be able to preview different clothing when they are trying to shop at a vendor. The patch will also include the ability for players to save cross-platform as long as they are logged in.

This means players will be able to load a saved file on the Steam Deck coming from the PS5 and continue where the player stopped. It was noted, however, that for those living in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Japan, some of the content is actually censored.

REDmod is the Company's Modding Tool for PC

The modding tool for PC is called the REDmod and will be coming with the update. Although the game has already supported mods throughout the year, they stated that the official tool will help make installing or creating mods much easier to manage.

The REDmod site notably lets players add their own animations, sounds, and even scripts to the game. It was noted that for those that want to learn more about the different additions to the game, players will have to watch the YouTube video of CD Projekt Red's stream.
