EU's recent Apple visit was followed up by a new European office in San Francisco.
Aside from the giant iPhone maker, Europen Parliament officials also visited other U.S.-based tech giant firms, such as Meta and Google.
For the past few years, the European Union has been making efforts to ensure the fairness of the rising tech market across European and the United States.
EU officials want to take their efforts to the next level as it launches a new San Francisco-based office.
"Hello, San Francisco! Our new office will strengthen the EU's capacity to engage with stakeholders in the U.S. tech world," said the supranational union via its official Twitter post.
EU Apple Visit Followed by New European San Francisco Office
According to 9To5Mac's latest report, the new office was formed to improve transatlantic relations in the digital space.
On the other hand, the office also aims to liaise with tech companies based in the United States. The European Union explained that the new center would reinforce the EU-U.S. digital diplomacy cooperation.
Once it starts, the capacity of the EU to communicate with the private and public stakeholders will be strengthened.
This means that the organization will have better relationships with U.S.-based business leaders, policymakers, as well as civil society in the tech industry.
New EU Office's Other Goals
Aside from the plans mentioned above, the new San Francisco-based EU office wants to promote EU standards, as well as technologies, regulations, and digital policies.
The European Union said that this new office would be led by Gerard de Graaf, a key EU official who greatly contributed to the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and the Digital Services Act (DSA).
