The goal is to get 100 percent zero-emission vehicles throughout their fleet by 2040, as reported by Electrek. In 2020, the ride-sharing company injected $800 million to assist driver's transition to electric models by 2025 and ramp up its EV efforts.

Moreover, they released Uber Green and Uber Comfort Electric. These are programs that connect riders with hybrids and EVs.

Moove and Uber

Now, the company will even more expand its EV presence in the area in partnership with Moove. Recently, Uber announced that it would add an additional 10,000 EVs in London over the next few years. Moove is a fintech startup company based in Amsterdam that was established in 2020. Since then, Moove has become Uber's most significant supply partner in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

According to Ladi Delano, the cofounder and CEO at Moove, they are seeing strong demand for Tesla Model 3s. "A lot of our customers are already in fuel-guzzling vehicles and we're now moving them into EV vehicles at a very low cost of switching. The result of rising prices hs actually led to a very high demand for our product."

So far, the EV expansion of Uber is 6,000 EVs in London. Moove will also be launching a charging network, the Moove Charge, that is designed for ride-sharing.

More EVs on the Road

EVs have been gaining ground in the transportation industry, especially after Tesla's breakout success. Electric vehicles are cheaper to drive, environment-friendly, and have zero tailpipe emissions.

Many automakers are now turning their attention to the electric vehicles because of the recent indication that EVs will make up the majority of vehicles by 2040.

Since moving away from fossil fuels and embracing zero-emission vehicles, the environment is gradually being restored.

What's more, people nowadays are becoming more conscious about the environment. They are currently seeking for more environmentally-friendly vehicles.

Nowadays, the demand for EVs has been on the rise. A company may soon not be able to survive in the market if they do not include EVs in their fleet. Even though EVs still represent only a small portion of the market, they are gaining a lot of momentum. They are also expected to dominate the market in the next few years.

EVs are helping to change the transportation industry, and ride-sharing companies are also playing a huge role in making the move towards a more sustainable future.
