Free at-home COVID-19 test orders suspension has been confirmed by the U.S. federal government.
In January, the Biden administration launched its health program allowing American households to receive free coronavirus test kits.
Thanks to the government's efforts, many families were able to check if they were infected with the deadly COVID-19 or not.
But, all good things really do come to an end. The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has already updated its website, confirming the deadline for free at-home COVID-19 test orders.
"If you need a COVID-19 test now, are looking for another type of COVID-19 test, or need more tests than covidtests.gov provides, the resources below are available," said the agency.
Free At-Home COVID-19 Test Orders to Be Suspended?
According to USA Today's latest report, the U.S. government will halt its free at-home COVID-19 test program starting on Sept. 2.
Officials explained that they had to suspend orders since supplies were becoming more and more limited. They added that at-home test kits should be preserved for potential COVID-19 infection increases.
On the other hand, the administration stated that Congress not approving the test kit replenishment funds is also among the major factors that forced them to suspend the orders.
As of writing, the U.S. federal government still hasn't confirmed how many COVID-19 kits are left. But, officials may soon provide further updates.
