All About The Axe

The Axe is a two-passenger electric vertical takeoff and landing personal aircraft that can be ordered with a hybrid-electric power source for further ranges. The company anticipates that customers will utilize the aircraft for daily commutes, shopping trips, and vacation flights.

The aircraft's all-electric model has a range of 161 kilometers and a cruise speed of 161 kilometers per hour (100 mph) (100 miles). The range is anticipated to be 322 kilometers (200 miles) .using the hybrid-electric power source.

Eight electric motors and four propellers are mounted on the aircraft's canard wings. The aircraft's reliability and redundancy are increased by its eight electric motors. The cockpit is covered by a canopy, giving the pilot and passenger fantastic all-around views.

The carbon fiber composite used in the airplane superstructure results in a body and wings that are both light and strong. The aircraft is less complicated and safer because the propellers are at set angles and coupled to fixed wings, according to the company.

The production and maintenance costs of an airplane are reduced when complexity is decreased as well, according to Electric VTOL News. The airplane has a vertical stabilizer on the tail. As a result of the aircraft's fixed wheel landing gear, its complexity is likewise reduced.

Simplicity, Redundancy, Safety, and Speed

The aircraft's significant characteristics include simplicity, redundancy, safety, and speed. The speed at which travelers can reach their destination significantly improves when they travel by air. If the aircraft loses power, it can glide to a stop and touch down on its fixed, tricycle-shaped landing gear.

The plane can glide effortlessly to a runway or road and land there using its wheeled landing gear.

A quadruple redundant control system that stabilizes the aircraft in hover and transition zones as well as an emergency ballistic parachute, are some of the safety features of the aircraft.

According to Skyfly, learning to fly the Axe VTOL aircraft takes roughly an hour if you can fly a drone because the controls are comparable. The airplane is expected to sell for £150,000 ($180,566), according to the business.

Skyfly said that they would start the aircraft's production next year.
