Twitter has officially launched its latest feature, Twitter Circle, worldwide. The feature lets you select which followers will see your tweet, giving your control over your account.
Twitter Circle is Now Available
According to TechCrunch, Twitter launched the beta version of the feature in May, and it is now available to all users. The feature is similar to Instagram's Close Friends, which lets you pick and choose who can see your activity.
The feature will let you select up to 150 followers, and those on your list will receive a green badge to let them know they are the only ones who can see your tweets.
For your privacy, the followers you've selected to be a part of your Twitter Circle will not be notified if you remove them.
The users you've added to your list won't be able to leave on their own, so they will need to file a request to have their account removed.
How to Activate Twitter Circle
To sign up for Twitter Circle, choose the dropdown menu at the top of the tweet composer and tap on "Circle." You can start selecting the users you want in your Circle by hitting the Edit button next to the option.
According to The Verge, the tweets you post in your Circle are still subject to Twitter's community guidelines, and it also does not stop your followers from screenshotting your posts.
Twitter Podcast
Aside from rolling out Twitter Circle to all its users, the social media network has also added podcasts in its updated Spaces tab. The new Spaces feature with podcasts will be available in English-speaking countries on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
According to 9to5Mac, the newly updated Spaces tab will have a Stations section that groups users based on their internets. Some topics available under stations are news, music, entertainment, and sports.
Twitter will recommend Stations for you to join based on the people you follow.
Twitter users can also access recorded and live Spaces, and if you've missed a Spaces section and want to listen to the recording in the future, you can bookmark the link.
The Spaces feature will also have popular podcasts from around the world, and you can rate them by giving them a thumbs up or a thumbs down.
As soon as you open the Spaces Tab, you will see three sections: Stations, Space Spotlight, and Upcoming Spaces.
Under Stations, you will see the different themes and topics you can listen to. Under Spaces Spotlight, you will see the top curated audio content list; under Upcoming Spaces. You will see the upcoming live sessions and podcast schedules.
Twitter has been testing podcasts for months, and the launch of the new Spaces tabs shows that the social media platform is interested in extending its offerings to its users.
The social media giant is also working on developing audio stations and personalized audio digest. Still, it is unclear when the features will roll out and if they will be available worldwide.
