A Metaverse's AI Joins America's Got Talent, Qualifies for Semi-Finals

An AI joins America's Got Talent.

No one was more surprised than "Simon Cowell" when another version of him sang on America's Got Talent stage while he sat and watched at the judges' table with great awe.

But how can this be possible?

Leading AI startup Metaphysic converted vocalist Daniel Emmet into Simon Cowell in a stunning demonstration of how far AI has advanced. Their unique performance earned them a spot in the competition's semi-finals, according to a report by Forbes.

Hyperreal AI in Pop Culture

Chris Umé, an expert in visual effects and artificial intelligence, and entrepreneur Tom Graham founded Metaphysic - a company that is paving the way for the future of hyperreal, AI-generated material in popular culture.

Metaphysic is a leader in creating hyperreal synthetic videos that are frequently impossible to tell apart from digital media recorded by cameras.

Chris and Tom had to use photos and videos of the real Simon Cowell, who were taken from various angles and in various lighting situations, to train an AI model.

They advanced to the semifinal stage as a result of their efforts. The team intends to impress the AGT judges and audience with yet another stunning performance for the next round.

The Future of Synthetic Media

The fast-growing field of digital experiences and products created with input from artificial intelligence is known as synthetic media.

Tom predicts that in the future, up to 80% of the time we spend online will be devoted to these kinds of interactions with synthetic content that include everyday people.

Chris told Forbes that he thinks this technology will enable us to experience genuine connections in the metaverse. He envisions a time when he might be able to have a virtual live" breakfast with his grandparents, who reside on the other side of the globe, and experience what it would be like to be in the same room as them.

The technology developed by Metaphysic, called Every Anyone, enables users to design their own hyperreal likenesses and safeguard their individual biometric voice and facial data.

Hyperreal avatars can be employed in a range of settings, including video games, social media, online classes with peers, and more. This tool is a part of Metaphysic's plan to scale synthetic media and increase regular consumers' use, as per Forbes' report.

The AI company is looking forward to working with more customers and the broader public on the moral usage of deepfakes. Tom and Chris' performance at the AGT may have just served as an introduction to the future of synthetic media.
