Short-Form Videos have Started to Grow in Popularity Over the Past Years Due to the Help of TikTok
The short-form video has started to become more and more popular over the course of the past few years due to the help of TikTok. It has reportedly forced platforms just like Instagram to change and compete.

Instagram has an Algorithm that Detects TikTok Watermarked Videos
Instagram already has an algorithm capable of recognizing videos with the TikTok watermark and basically does not promote those videos on its platform. YouTube has also started to become more protective of its own platform by watermarking its very own short-form videos or Shorts as detailed in an article by Variety.
By bookmarking its Shorts, YouTube will be able to promote its platform or at least content within its platform. Despite running into a lot of issues, Instagram has reportedly been adding different much-appreciated features over the course of the previous months.
The new protective features are being rolled out in order to protect younger users. One of the most recent measures includes sensitive content filters for teens as the platform has started to verify the age of its users with a "nudge" feature that assists teens to move on certain subjects they might not want.
