The Epic Games Store is no stranger to churning out free games every once in a while. The latest to its addition of free games will be a "Tomb Raider" game which is expected to come free for gamers on September 1.
The 'Shadow of the Tomb Raider' Title will be Free on Epic Games Store
According to the story by Games Radar, the free "Tomb Radar" game that will be made available on Epic Games Store is the "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" title. The article notes, however, that this title might not be the best Tomb Raider title in the list.
The publication noted that the title might not offer the same thrills as other earlier offerings. For those that want to enjoy the interactive puzzles aspect of the game, they can still enjoy it by checking the game out for free when it releases on September 1.
The Game Follows the 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' which was Released in 2015
The article explains that the "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" is the follow-up title to the "Rise of the Tomb Raider" which was initially released in 2015. The initial game saw Lara Croft race through the Peruvian jungle and even try to navigate through the tombs in order to "save the world from a Mayan apocalypse."
The events players get to experience in the game is "supposedly Lara's defining moment" where she started to become her destiny, the Tomb Raider. For those that are trying to look for something a bit more relaxing, Epic Games Store is offering "Submerged: Hidden Depths": alongside the "Shadow of the Tomb Raider."
Alternative to Adventure-Focused Lara Croft Game
Games, however, will not be able to find any shootouts but instead, they will be able to adventure, explore, solve puzzles, and do other things in the ruins of a sunken world. The game is different compared to Lara Croft's journey.
The games will reportedly be replacing another title called "Ring of Pain." The game is a roguelike card crawler where players will be approached with certain encounters.

Upcoming Tomb Raider Game to be Built on Unreal Engine 5
The colorful but creepy turn-based game could be an alternative to the "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" should players want something with a little less action. A brand new Tomb Raider game is reportedly still being developed.
The upcoming game will be developed with the help of Unreal Engine 5. Crystal Dynamic, the developer behind the upcoming game, announced that their main goal is to be able to deliver "high-quality, cinematic action-adventure experience that fans deserve."
Crystal Dynamic was acquired by Embracer Group for $300 million all the way back in May. The company announced that they see "great potential" not just with the newer adventures of Lara Croft but also the spinoffs, remakes, remasters, and even the "transmedia projects."
