The Avata features a compact design with a weight of only 410 grams. It has safety features like a built-in aerodynamic propeller guards and a Turtle mode that flips the drone upright in case of an upside-down landing.

In a press release, DJI's creative director Ferdinand Wolf said, "DJI Avata was built to awaken a desire to fly in everyone, with immersive flight technology that allows anyone to explore the almost out-of-body experience of FPV flight. DJI Avata is breathtaking to fly for even a novice pilot."

Packed With Features

The drone is designed to be paired with the DJI Goggles 2 and the DJI Motion Controller. However, the flight requires the pilot to be accompanied by a spotter to comply with the visual line of site flight regulations.

Another feature of the Avata is that it includes a powerful, stabilized camera with a 1/1.7" CMOS sensor. The sensor converts photons to electrons for digital processing, with 48 million effective pixels. It also delivers premium imaging feature such as 4K/60 frame per second video and up to 2.7K/120fps video when it's paired with the goggles.

It also comes with a powerful battery that allows for an extended flight time of up to 18 minutes. The Avata also has an infrared sensing system and a two-camera downward-vision system that allows it to maintain its current position. Therefore, you can hover the drone more precisely. Users can also ensure that it can fly in other environments where satellite navigation is unavailable. With these features, the drone can identify surfaces that not suitable for landing.

The DJI Goggles 2 and Avata can display the Home Point from which the drone took off. This way, the pilot can sty oriented during a flight while wearing the goggles. Additionally, its Augmented Reality (AR) perspective will provide it with an extra sense of orientation to help the pilot identify the immediate environment within seconds.

The manufacturer also provides a next-gen video headset that is smaller and lighter with a more comfortable fit than the older DJI FPV Goggles V2 headset. Rest assured, it can maintain a clear FPV image. You can also connect the DJI Avata through DJI O3+ transmission, which is the most powerful and reliable technology for control today.
