Rockstar Games Bans Anyone Talking About 'GTA 6' on Twitch: Users Report Redact in Game's Name

Rockstar Games is getting even more strict about "GTA 6" and now, it is banning users on Twitch for merely talking about the title. This move comes after the company decided to censor people that were talking too much about the game on YouTube last year.

Rockstar Games is Now Going After Twitch Users Mentioning 'GTA 6'

According to the story by Unilad, Rockstar Games is now going after Twitch users that are trying to talk about "Grand Theft Auto 6" just a year after they decided to do the same on YouTube. Although no news has been given from the publisher, users have detailed what they had experienced.

As per the Twitch users that were blocked for talking about "GTA 6," they noted that when they try to type in the name of the game, the text will be redacted. As per Unilad, they described this as a "move seemingly aimed to maintaining hype surrounding the release."

GTA 6 Release First Estimated to Happen in 2024

The article noted that despite "GTA 6" potentially not releasing to the public until 2024, Rockstar Games might not really want gamers to take their attention away from "GTA Online" which remains their latest "Grand Theft Auto" release so far.

In a tweet by Rockstar Games, they addressed the issue of numerous gamers and fans asking them about the Grand Theft Auto series' new entry. They replied noting that with every project, they want to always move significantly beyond what they had first released.

Other Estimates Say the Game Could Take Longer to Launch

After addressing the issue, they officially confirmed that they are now in active development for the upcoming series. The tweet was dated back to February 4 but when browsing the Rockstar Games Twitter account, most of the content that can be seen relates to the "Grand Theft Auto Online" game instead of the upcoming title.

In a July article by Gamespot, it was also noted that the game could take longer than 2024 to release. In fact, they have reason to believe that gamers will have to wait until 2025 in order to play the newest Rockstar Games Grand Theft Auto Series title.

Rockstar Remains Secretive About 'GTA 6' and Its Progress

Since Rockstar Games has remained extremely secretive about "GTA 6" and the progress they are making towards the game, it's important to take all leaks with a grain of salt since a lot of the information has not yet come from the publisher itself.

A lot of the leaks also can't be confirmed with some of them coming from speculations in other games or other updates. So far, gamers will have to wait until the publisher itself confirms the progress on where they are with "Grand Theft Auto 6."
