Vale's Steam Deck seems to be moving at speeds faster than the company expected. This means that buyers who are expecting their handheld consoles to be delivered by the fourth quarter of this year might be getting the Steam Deck earlier.
Q4 Steam Deck Orders Could Arrive earlier as Production Ramps Up
According to the story by PC Gamer, those that have ordered the Steam Deck and are expecting it to arrive in Q4 should check their emails. This is because anyone that was initially expecting to receive the Steam Deck, later on, could receive a pleasant surprise.
Certain people that had Q4 reservations might be getting emails regarding the completion of their Steam Deck orders faster than they expected. Valve noted that the production has outperformed the estimates.
News Wasn't a Mistake and Valve was Able to Produce More than Their Estimates
Lawrence Yang from Valve shared a tweet greeting the buyers, saying a few of them have been able to get an order email for the "Q4 window" Steam Deck reservations. He then noted that the news wasn't a mistake and that they were able to produce more than their estimates.
Yang then announced that they will be moving more people who were from the Q4 window down to their Q3 window. This means that buyers that initially expected their Steam Deck to come later on could get it sooner than expected.
Increased Production Means Buyers More Likely to Get Steam Deck Despite Holiday Season
As per the article, Valve has been increasing its production, which has resulted in nearly double the number of Steam Decks that are being shipped out every week. The news comes from Yang's personal account, but the Deck developer also said that an official announcement is expected to come really soon.
The availability of Steam Decks comes as a surprise since as of press time, the company is still in the middle of its Q3 Steam Deck shipments. Should what they said to be true, this means that anyone could buy a Steam Deck during the holiday season and not have to wait a number of months in order to get it.
Steam Deck Also Plans to Roll to More Parts of the World
Another good news is that the Steam Deck will also become available in more parts of the world. This means that people from other places that weren't able to place their orders before may now purchase the Steam Deck.
Just like with the reservation email, buyers are given a few days for them to complete the Steam Deck order. Buyers will have to check their spam folder for emails and should they run into any issues, they can contact Steam Deck support.
Yang also stated that the reservation windows have not been updated on the official product page of the Steam Deck. This means that it might still state that the buyers shipping date could indicate a Q4 window.
