As such, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro owners could still get their broken earpiece with sound issues replaced free of any charge.
Apple iPhone 12 Repair Program for Earpiece Issues
A new story by GSM Arena reports that Apple debuted its repair service program for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro users in August 2021.
The repair program follows the frustrating earpiece issues that some of the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 mobile devices are experiencing, wherein no sound comes out during phone calls.
In turn, Apple announced that it would be replacing the earpiece module of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro without charging its users any fees under its new repair program.
The Cupertino giant states that it has "determined that a very small percentage of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices may experience sound issues due to a component that might fail on the receiver module."
The renowned phone maker also notes that the earpiece issue affects devices produced from October 2020 to April 2021.
So if you are an iPhone 12 user experiencing a receiver issue while on phone calls, you are eligible to have it repaired for free at Apple and its Authorized Service Providers.
It is worth noting, though, that the repair program does not cover other iPhone 12 devices, such as the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the iPhone 12 mini.
The tech firm initially announced that the repair program would last two years after the said device had gone on sale.
Apple Extends iPhone 12 Earpiece Repair Program
But this time, the renowned tech giant has extended the earpiece repair service program for the two iPhone 12 models.
According to a recent report by Mac Rumors, the service program for the earpiece sound issues has been extended for a year all over the world.
It means that the repair program now expands to three years since the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices have hit the shelves.
In turn, if you have been procrastinating to have your iPhone 12 repaired at the nearest Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider, you now have it done.
The phone maker recommends its users backup their files to iCloud before bringing in their smartphones as they may lose their data after the repair.
