Android 13 on Google Pixel phones, including the Pixel 6, is seemingly breaking the wireless charging ability of these mobile devices, some users are currently reporting.
On top of that, some Pixel folks are also complaining that the new Android 13 update appears to have messed up rapid charging as well.
Android 13 on Google Pixel Phones
As per the latest report by Android Authority, the all-new Android 13 has finally started rolling out to the smartphone lineup of Google, Pixel.
The new major Android update arrived on Pixel phones earlier this week, which was way ahead of every other phone maker, such as Samsung and OnePlus, to name a few.
Instead, the latest Android would only reach these non-Pixel devices later this year.
Android Authority notes in its report that the all-new Android 13 brings several improvements in the overall experience of its users, specifically both their privacy and security.
But besides these security refinements, the latest update introduces fancy upgrades, such as the Material You design.
While Google touts the Android 13 to improve the smartphones running it, the new update seems to come along with a massive issue for some Pixel phone users.
Google Pixel Wireless Charging Stops After Installing Android 13
And as such, if you are one of those who are still considering installing the new Android 13 just yet, you might want to hold that off.
According to the recent report from The Verge, Pixel phone users have started storming Reddit to complain about the wireless charging issues on their mobile devices, which includes the latest offerings of Google, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro.
Several users of Pixel phones, such as the older 4 and 4X, along with the newer models, report that the charging function has stopped regardless of what wireless chargers they are using. It notably includes no less than the first-party Pixel Stands of the search engine giant.
And what these Pixel phone users have in common is that they recently updated their devices with Android 13.
Rapid Charging Issue
Meanwhile, some users also share that the rapid charging seems to have gotten wonky as well.
Upon installing the latest Android, some Pixel phones could no longer top up their battery using rapid charging. Others even report that the phone appears to be getting too hot.
Pixel 6 Users Are Stuck
The Verge highlights in the news article that this is an extra bummer for Pixel 6 series owners as the latest update prevents them from going back to Android 12.
So, there is no choice for them but to patiently wait for the next release of Android 13, which hopefully addresses the wireless charging issue affecting some users.
