There are numerous reasons why Android users would decide to switch to iOS. A recent survey was able to find out that 49% of switches are because of safety reasons as more people think that the iPhone is safer than other Android devices.
Recent Research Shows the Main Reason for People Not Minding to Switch Could be Because They Perceive iOS to be Safer
According to the story by Digital Information World, recent research showed that almost half of Android users would not mind switching over to Apple smartphones. The main reason for them not minding is because they think that Apple is safer and more private in comparison to Android.
As per the article, the result of the survey, however, does not really come as a surprise. An example given by the article is how some consumers look at the iPhone 13 as safer in comparison to the Samsung S22.
1,000 Americans were Interviewed for the Survey
The report was initially published by Beyond Infinity which took a pool of 1,000 Americans and interviewed them regarding mobile security concerns. It was found that 76% of iPhone users say that they feel safe and satisfied when using their devices.
The interesting part about the interview is that a close 74% of Android devices also carried the same sentiments. The article notes that a lot of people would prefer the iPhone maker over Samsung.
Popularity of Both Operating Systems has Created a Division Between Smartphone Users
It was also found that iPhone users were able to trust their device twice as much as any other smartphone, especially Android. Both operating systems have been extremely popular and have even resulted in factions where some people are die-hard Apple users while others would prefer Android.
While each side has its own pros and cons, both sides have an incredibly strong fan base. Around 20% of users that were surveyed were found to have the iCloud keychain saying it makes them feel safe.
33% of Android Users were Feeling Pressure to Switch to the Apple iPhone
When it came to Google's Password Manager, however, only 13% of people felt safe about using this feature. The survey was able to find that 27% of Apple users actually safe when using their iCloud.
In comparison to its Android counterpart, only 22% of Google Drive users felt the same. It was also noted that 33% of Android users are "feeling the pressure to switch to Apple's iPhone" and be able to avail of different benefits like the lockdown mode which is expected to launch soon.
Malware and Malicious Apps Still Make Its Way to Both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
An article by BGR notes that scammers frequently infiltrate both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store with malicious apps and content. The problem, however, is that the Google Play Store usually makes headlines much more frequently.
