Cameo, a celebrity shoutout platform, has released a new feature to let you spend more time with your favorite celebrity.
Came Live Feature
The feature, called Cameo Live, is a new service the company announced on Thursday, Aug. 18. It offers a 10-minute live video call with a celebrity, which customers can choose to have either as a one-on-one session, send as a gift, or take part in with up to nine close friends.
According to The Verge, Cameo has already tried launching the same feature a couple of times. In 2020, it launched Cameo Live, offering 10-minute video calls, albeit only with up to five participants, but not including the celebrity.
But in 2021, Cameo sunsetted the feature and followed up with a new feature a couple of months later called Cameo Calls.

At the time, Cameo advertised that the feature would offer video calls up to 15 minutes in length, but at launch, a lot of celebrities were offering shorter calls of two to three minutes in length.
In the recent announcement, Cameo now refers to the new feature as its "two-minute meet and greet product," which suggests that celebrities were not opting to host the longer calls that the feature was advertised with at its release.
Cameo Calls is not discontinued as Cameo Live has taken its place, according to Fast Company.
The company already has thousands of celebrities signed up for the new feature. Some celebrities ready to do Cameo Live are Sean Astin, Bonnie Wright, James Marsters, and McLaren CEO Zak Brown.
The prices for a 10-minute Cameo Live range anywhere from $250 up to $2,000, according to The Drum.
Cameo calls can be booked through the Cameo website, and it will allow you to suggest up to three potential dates and times for a video call.
How Does Cameo Work?
The process to get your personalized video on Cameo is simple. Once you sign up for the service, you need to find a celebrity from which you wish to get a video shoutout.
The Cameo Marketplace, where the lists of celebrities are found, includes everyone from B-list actors, movie stars, television personalities, models, musicians, social media influencers, comedians, gamers, athletes, and drag queens.
When you pick a celebrity, either put them on your wishlist or get started by ordering your personalized videos. You might want to check elsewhere if you want a video with special features and cool effects. Most of the videos are simple and straightforward.
When you sign up for a booking, Cameo will ask you questions like who the video is for, what the occasion is, and instructions that you want the hired celebrity to follow.
If you are a small business owner, you can even get a celebrity to create a video for you to promote your business. It can be effective video marketing. You can post the requested video to other social media platforms if you wish.
Once the booking is complete, the celebrity has a week to deliver your video request.
