Mark Zuckerberg's metaverse selfie is now the target of netizens. Previously, the billionaire posted his virtual selfie to show that the so-called Horizon Worlds is expanding in Spain and France.
The viral post of the Meta CEO was able to generate more than 100,000 reactions, 17,000 comments, and 7,500 shares on Facebook.
But, 24,000 of these reactions are "haha," which clearly shows thousands of users find the post quite funny.
"Looking forward to seeing people explore and build immersive worlds, and to bringing this to more countries soon," said Zuckerberg via his official Facebook announcement post.
Mark Zuckerberg's Metaverse Selfie Criticized
Based on the official statement of Meta's CEO and the comments made by Facebook users in the comment section, they are not really laughing at the expansion of Horizon Worlds in France and Spain.
They are specifically criticizing the metaverse selfie of Zuckerberg because of its quality.
According to PC Gamer's latest report, Meta already spent $10 billion to enhance its metaverse platforms, such as the Horizon Worlds; a virtual online video game platform that works with Oculus Quest 2 and Oculus Rift.
Because of Mark's bad metaverse selfie quality, many critics compared it to Second Life, an online media platform that allows users to create their own avatars.
They said that the quality of Meta's metaverse platforms, it is nowhere better than the Second Life multimedia system.
Twitter Users Criticize Metaverse Selfie
Although Mark Zuckerberg posted his metaverse selfie, many users decided to use Twitter to bash his virtual reality creation.
Maybe because the billionaire owns Facebook. Now, many Twitter users who saw the virtual selfie photo of Zuckerberg asked why Horizon Worlds is the worst compared to the "Wii" 2006 version.
On the other hand, others claimed that "Twisted Metal 2" has better virtual reality effects. Now, imagine a next-gen technology being compared to those developed way back in the 1990s.
Since the quality of Zuckerberg's metaverse selfie is questionable for some individuals, many people are now putting the photo beside other metaverse games and platforms.
