55-Inch Samsung Odyssey Ark Gaming Monitor Now Available for Pre-Order at $3,499: Is It Worth It?

Gaming monitors are something a lot of gamers see the advantage of having but the real question is how much should one spend on a gaming monitor? Samsung has opened its 55-inch Odyssey Ark Gaming Monitor up for pre-orders and it will cost buyers $3,499.

Samsung is Selling a Gaming Monitor at the Price of a Decent Gaming Computer

For the price of $3,499 on Amazon, buyers can already get a decent i9-12900KF, 64GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD + 2TB HDD, RTX 3080 gaming desktop computer. This, however, doesn't come with a monitor so buyers will still have to spend a little extra on visuals.

According to the story by ZDNet, the Samsung Odyssey Ark gaming monitor was initially teased during the CES event. The gaming monitor takes the 1000R curved monitor form and maximizes the side so that players are almost completely surrounded by the game.

55-inch Samsung Odyssey Ark Pre-Orders Now Open as It Aims to Replace Multi-Monitor Setup

The 55-inch Odyssey Ark is finally available for pre-orders. When Samsung initially shared its monitor lineup during the Consumer Electronics Show, one of them literally towered over all the other monitors on the roster.

The monitor that stood out the most was the 55-inch Odyssey Ark monitor that promised to replace the more common multi-monitor setup. The gaming monitor was designed to have a single, extremely flexible display that allows users to do what they need to do on a single monitor to help increase productivity and give players a more immersive gaming experience.

Samsung has finally opened the giant gaming monitor up for pre-orders on its website while revealing the specs coming with the Odyssey Ark.

Gaming Monitor Comes with Sound Dome Technology for a More Immersive Gaming Experience

Although the specs above do place the monitor as one of the best in its industry, it also comes at quite a hefty price for a gaming monitor. Samsung reportedly hopes that the unique curvature and size of the gaming monitor will really help it stand out within the space.

The Odyssey Ark has the ability to take up the entire view of the user to enhance the experience by what the company calls "Cockpit Mode." This particular feature where the unit's height-adjusted stand will allow it to rotate either horizontally or vertically.

The gaming monitor also comes with Sound Dome Technology which is trying to give a more immersive experience through the help of four mid-range speakers located at each corner in order to create the sensation of surround sound.
