Apple announced its iPhone ads increase plan. This means that iOS smartphone owners will see more advertisements from their pre-installed applications.
For the past few years, device users have found advertisements pretty annoying since they don't like seeing sudden pop-ups while using iOS apps.
Of course, many tech firms, including Apple, explained that ads are among their revenue makers, allowing them to earn more money to enhance their services.
On the other hand, ad companies explained that advertisements would allow users to have more customized experiences.
Apple to Increase iPhone Ads?
According to Digital Trends' latest report, the giant iPhone maker revealed its plan to expand its advertisement business for iPhone and iPad on Aug. 14.
As of press time, the tech firm's Apple App Store and News and Stocks applications have advertisements. Now, Bloomberg reported that the manufacturer might be internally testing ads for other apps.
iPhone apps that are expected to be affected include Podcasts, Books, and Maps software. Now, the ad expansion is very different from the recent effort made by Apple.
Previously, the so-called ATT (App Tracking Transparency) feature was launched, allowing users to choose the apps that can track them.
Since ads are linked to tracking activities, then it means that ATT is also a tool that prevents advertising companies from acquiring the sensitive details of iPhone users.
As of writing, it is still unclear if Apple will make adjustments for its App Tracking Transparency when it completely expands its ad business.
Benefits of Apple Ad Expansion
Many critics explained that the iPhone advertisement for Apple would benefit both consumers and the tech creator.
For example, if the Maps application receives more ads from restaurants and other businesses, the iPhone maker can collect more fees from these companies, allowing it to generate higher revenue.
On the other hand, consumers will receive better restaurant suggestions depending on their locations. If you want to learn more about the benefits of the Apple ad expansion, you can visit this link.
Meanwhile, the default Apple app ban may soon happen, as claimed by experts.
Previously, iPhone and iPad downgrades for iOS 15.5 were blocked by Apple.
