Pixel 6 Pro Priced Slashed by 70% on Target from $900 to $270

Target is pushing down the prices for the Google Pixel 6 Pro from $900 down to a more affordable $270. The prices of the Pixel 6 Pro were reportedly dropped by a whopping 70%.

Target is Selling the Pixel 6 Pro Phones for Up to 70% Off

According to the story by Android Police, Google dropped the prices for not just the Pixel 6 Pro but also the Pixel 6. The article notes that Google is now pushing out the Pixel 6a but this might change when the Pixel 7 phones start to take over.

On the subreddit thread r/GooglePixel, people have started sharing how they were lucky by being able to purchase the Stormy Black Pixel 6 Pro 128GB for 70% off. As noted by an article from 9to5Google, the price of the Pixel 6 Pro dropped down to $270 while being listed on the Google Store and Amazon for $649.

Different Targets have Four Different Markup Tiers

So far, the markdown prices can be found in stores located in Georgia, Florida, and even Massachusetts. Not all Targets, however, follow the 70% as other outlets have different markdown tiers.

The different markdown tiers put the prices down by 15%, 30%, 50%, and 70% off. A certain Reddit user claiming to be an employee noted that the reason that they are selling the stock at lower prices is due to them not being "supposed to have it in the first place."

Not Every Store Sells the Pixel 6 Pro Since Some Others Sell Just the Pixel 6

The Reddit user also noted that buyers should not call the store in order to ask about the inventory status of the Pixel 6 Pro. Another user that identified as an employee noted that not every store carries the same stock noting they only had the Pixel 6 but did not have any stock for the Pixel 6 Pro.

As per an article by Android Police, there is a lot of advice noting that people interested in the massive discounts should use BrickSeek, an inventory scanner site, in order to find out if there are stores with low inventory before going there.

Reason Behind Markdowns Could be Retailers Preparing for the Pixel 7 by Getting Rid of Pixel 6 and 6 Pro Stock

It was noted, however, that low stock does not guarantee that buyers will be able to purchase the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro at massively discounted prices. It was noted that low stock should only be used as an indicator but not a confirmative.

Android Police notes that this is not that surprising since retailers could be trying to empty their shelves in order to make way for the upcoming Google Pixel 7. With the launch of the upcoming smartphone, the article notes that there is a possibility that users will also be able to trade up the previous model to get the newer phone when it releases.
