Samsung Galaxy S22 series users in the US could now get their hands on the August 2022 security update, which folks elsewhere in the world, specifically in Europe, have gotten early on.
The South Korean phone maker has finally started rolling out its August 2022 security update to its flagship mobile devices, the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra.
But what does this new security update actually bring to the table?

As per the recent news story by Sam Mobile, Samsung started pushing its August 2022 security update two weeks ago or in late July to its users in various parts of the world.
However, the renowned tech giant left out the US variant of its Galaxy S22 series, leaving users in the Western country patiently waiting for the rollout of the latest security update.
But this time, Samsung has already started rolling out its security patch for August 2022, which brings tons of security fixes and privacy refinements to its current flagship series.
It is worth noting that the latest security firmware update for Galaxy S22 devices carries the version name S90xU1UEU2AVG8.
August 2022 Security Update in the US: Which Phones Are Eligible?
According to the latest report by Android Central, the latest security patch of Samsung is now on its way to the unlocked versions of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S22 Plus, and the entry-level Galaxy S22.
On the other hand, carrier-locked Galaxy S22 phones, except for Verizon models, have yet to receive the latest security update.
Android Central notes in the same report that Verizon-locked Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 mobile devices are also getting the August 2022 security patch.

Galaxy S22 August Security Patch: What's New
Although the latest update focuses on security, it also brings tons of stability and UI improvements to make the overall experience smoother.
Sam Mobile reports that the latest firmware update brings several privacy improvements for the delight of its users. And on top of those, it also introduced fixes to various security vulnerabilities, which may expose its users to cyber attackers.
The update addresses issues within the Samsung DeX and Know VPN. It also fixes vulnerabilities, which allows attackers to manipulate which apps could access the mobile data of its users.
Not to mention that it also takes care of the leaking in the MAC addresses of Samsung users and the improper access control.
