Just like before, another retailer has revealed the prices of new processors even before they officially launched. A Canadian retailer has just revealed the prices for the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, Ryzen 9 7900X, and more.
Tray Versions of the AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Listed Online Before Official Launch
According to the story by Tech Spot, the price leak happened through an online storefront that listed the different tray versions of the AMD Ryzen 7000 series, which is yet to come soon. The different processors that were leaked include the Ryzen 7950X, the Ryzen 7900X, the Ryzen 7 7700X, and the Ryzen 5 7600X.
All of these processors were listed at a higher price compared to AMD's current-gen Zen 3 lineup. As per the publication, the prices, however, did not show an extreme difference to the point that the new prices made the processors more unaffordable.
Buyers Could Add the Ryzen 7000 Series Processor to Their Cart and Enter Payment Details
The article notes that this type of event has already happened before and that hardware releases can't just go without a certain retailer listing the series before they officially launched. This time, the retailer responsible for releasing the prices is PC Canada, which even listed motherboards early as well.
As seen on PC Canada, buyers have the option to add the Ryzen 7000 series processors to the cart. Users will then be able to enter payment information in order to reserve their slot for the new AMD processors.
AMD Ryzen 7950X Price Listed at $890 While Ryzen 7900X Price Listed at $610
As per the site, the Ryzen 7950X will cost $890, and the Ryzen 7900X will cost $610 respectively when converted from CAD to USD. Other processors on the list include the Ryzen 7700X, which will cost $480, and the 7600X, which will cost $330.
As computed by Tech Spot, the prices are about 10% higher compared to those of the current generation. These prices, however, were not yet officially released by AMD themselves, which could mean adjustments upon launch.
Ryzen 7000 Series Specs Released Online but Fans Might Want to Wait for Official Listing
In an article by Video Cardz, AMD gave confirmation of the names of the four processors as they were added to the online catalog. When the company teased the processors in May, theft hinted that the series would have a similar core template to the Ryzen 5000 series.
This meant that the new processors would follow the 6, 8, 12, and 16 core templates. Specs for the upcoming processor have also been released on sites like WCCFTech.
The article notes, however, that despite specs being revealed, buyers might want to wait for the official announcement by AMD to get confirmed details regarding the upcoming processors. As per Lisa Su, the CEO of AMD, the upcoming processors will be released in September of this year.
