Uber is soon removing its loyalty and perks program known to many as the "Uber Rewards," which previously offered several freebies and incentives for frequent users of the service. The company is now centering on their membership subscription program called "Uber One," where they get to receive free deliveries and discounts on rides, among many features available.
Uber Rewards is Ending its Service for Uber One Subscription
According to Uber, there would be a change to its loyalty program called "Uber Rewards," and it will soon end its service that brings different perks and freebies for the public on their use of the app. The feature will end the earning of points via the system by August 31, and the last use for the public on these accumulated points will be on October 31's midnight.
By November 1 this year, the public would no longer have access to their points and the Uber Rewards system, as per the company.
No other features would replace the Uber Rewards from the company, and it means that there are no more loyalty programs that users will get to use via the app. Despite the many rides and deliveries they use via the app, there are no more points that they may exchange for discounts and offers, all under a freebie for them.
Uber One Subscription: New Perks for Members
The company is reinforcing its loyalty program via a subscription service called Uber One, and it offers more discounts and freebies for their UberX, Uber Eats, and other services available for all. However, it would not be the same as Uber Rewards as people have to pay for the feature to get the perks they would normally get for using Uber's services.
Uber and Ride-Hailing Features
Ride-hailing companies and those that bring a delivery service previously brought a service that aims to focus on what a person needs via its features available for the public. Uber is one of the most famous ride-hailing services in the country, with its services bordering on different features including its soon upgrading UberX services.
Several ride-hailing and delivery service companies already offer a premium experience via their apps, and it is via subscription features that aim to help the public experience more from their app. One of the services available via subscription is GrubHub's premium membership which will give people free deliveries for all purchases.
Uber is reinforcing its subscription service for all, and it aims to give the subscribers more to experience its perks and freebies than the Uber Rewards, but this means they have to pay for them. Instead of the previous experience where users get to have the perks after each ride or delivery use, those that will use Uber needs to pay the monthly fee for their freebies.
